The City’s Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee today approved a zoning amendment for a subdivision on lands north of the Jock River and within the Village of Richmond. The planned development off Ottawa Street would include 777 single family homes as well as townhouses, two parks and an English public elementary school.
The park at 100 Highgarden Terrace in Findlay Creek would be officially recognized as Bert Dowler Park after the Committee approved a commemorative naming proposal. The name honours Bert Dowler – a local farmer who was heavily involved in the Ottawa South farming community, often serving as a mentor to new farmers.
Recommendations from today’s Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee meeting will rise to Council on Wednesday, October 13.
