Ottawa City Council has appointed Cathy Ann Greene Curry to fill the vacancy in the Office of Councillor for Ward 4 (Kanata North) for the remainder of the 2018-2022 Term of Council.
It is anticipated that City Council’s appointee will be sworn in as a new Member of Council on November 10, 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter. The City Clerk will invite City Council’s appointee to a meeting at City Hall (110 Laurier Avenue West) to privately complete the Declaration of Office following the Special City Council meeting, or at another mutually agreed upon time.
In addition, Mayor Watson and the City Clerk will preside over a separate ceremonial Declaration of Office with the new Member in the Mayor’s Boardroom at a date and time to be confirmed.
During the next several days, the new Member of Council will participate in numerous administrative and orientation meetings, including various “onboarding” and training sessions.
In the interim, the Ward 4 (Kanata North) Office remains open (virtually due to the pandemic) and staffed to continue to address day-to-day constituency needs.
