Ottawa is home to a fantastic and diverse music scene. If you’ve ever called 3-1-1, you might have heard some local music playing while you’re on hold. But did you know that you don’t have to wait on hold just to listen to local talent?

This year’s City Sounds playlist is now available online! Explore a wide range of musical genres wherever you are and whenever you want. Best of all, each artist on the playlist lives right here in the Ottawa region!

"Ottawa has such amazing talent that make up its creative fabric and artists like ISØBEL help to strengthen our diversity at large,” says #ottmusic selection committee member and musician/producer Jordan David. “I think what ISØBEL is doing is refreshing on so many levels and I hope more folks can discover her work because I truly find it inspiring."

Jordan was also excited to see a bilingual local group on this year’s playlist: "Étoile Noire are a unique duo that call Ottawa home. Their ability to transfer a raw yet angelic tone is what sets them apart from other acts. They also sound great both live and recorded. If you haven't yet had a chance to check them out, I would suggest doing so!"
