Traffic impacts in Ottawa beginning Friday, December 10

The following projects will impact Ottawa traffic:

  • The intersection of Woodroffe Avenue at Meadowlands Drive/Tallwood Drive will have lane reductions from 7 pm on Friday, December 10 until 3 pm on Monday, December 13 while crews conduct investigative work in advance of an upcoming watermain repair. Access for all users will be maintained. Watch for signs and expect delays. Traffic impacts are expected in all directions, however the heaviest impact will be to southbound traffic.
  • The following Highway 174 ramps and lanes will be closed for Stage 2 LRT roadwork:
    • The eastbound on-ramp from southbound Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard is closed nightly between 7 pm and 5:30 am until Friday, December 10, and again from Monday, December 13 until Friday, December 17.
    • The eastbound on-ramp from northbound Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard is closed nightly between 7 pm and 5:30 am until Friday, December 10, and again from Monday, December 13 until Friday, December 17.
    • The eastbound on-ramp from southbound Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard will be closed from 7 pm on Friday, December 10 until 5:30 am on Monday, December 13 and again from 7 pm on Friday, December 17 until 5:30 am on Monday, December 20.
    • The eastbound on-ramp from northbound Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard will be closed from 7 pm on Friday, December 10 until 5:30 am on Monday, December 13, and again from 7 pm on Friday, December 17 until 5:30 am on Monday, December 20.
    • The westbound off-ramp to Montreal Road will be closed from 7 am to 2 pm on Sunday, December 12.
    • The westbound on-ramp from northbound Champlain Street will be closed from 9pm on Friday, December 10 until 2 pm on Saturday, December 11.
    • Highway 174 westbound will be reduced to one lane between Champlain Street and Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard from 9pm on Friday, December 10 until 2 pm on Saturday, December 11.
  • Montreal Road at the Highway 174 interchange will be reduced to a single lane in each direction nightly between 9 pm and 5 am from Monday, December 13 until Saturday, December 18.
  • A section of southbound Trim Road between Highway 174 and South Frontage will close nightly from 9 pm to 5:30 am from Monday, December 13 to Wednesday, December 15.
  • Byron Avenue is closed between Woodland Avenue and Harcourt Avenue daily from 7 am to 5 pm, until January 31. Byron Avenue is closed between Lockhart Avenue and Sherbourne Road daily from 7 am to 5 pm, until January 31, 2022.
  • A section of Redwood Avenue between Byron Avenue and Richmond Road will close daily between 7 am and 6 pm until Friday, December 17.

The following Highway 417 ramps and lanes will be closed for Stage 2 LRT roadwork:

    • The westbound off-ramp to Pinecrest Road will be closed until summer 2023.
    • The westbound on-ramp from northbound Pinecrest Road will close nightly between 10 pm and 5 am from Tuesday, December 14 until Saturday, December 18.
    • Highway 417 westbound lanes at Pinecrest Road will close nightly between 10 pm and 5 am from Thursday, December 16 until Saturday, December 18.
  • Riverside Drive southbound is reduced to one lane from Data Centre Road to Heron Road until June 2022.
  • The eastbound lanes on Hunt Club Road will be fully closed nightly from 10 pm to 6 am until Friday, December 10. The detour route is through Uplands Drive, Lester Road and Bank Street. Mac Street can be accessed via Bridle Path Drive. The following Airport Parkway ramps will also be closed during this time:
    • The southbound off-ramp to eastbound Hunt Club Road
    • The northbound off-ramp to eastbound Hunt Club Road

Road closures and traffic interruptions can be expected during the following holiday parades this weekend:

  • 12th Annual Carp Christmas Parade, drive-through event at the Carp Fairgrounds, Saturday, December 11, 5 pm
  • Navan Upside Down Parade, drive-through event at the Navan Fairgrounds, Saturday, December 11, 6 pm
  • Metcalfe Santa Claus Parade and Food Drive, Sunday, December 12, 2 pm
