Traffic impacts in Ottawa beginning Friday, December 17

The following projects will impact Ottawa traffic:

  • The Woodroffe Avenue at Meadowlands Drive/Tallwood Drive intersection will have lane reductions and potential turning restrictions from 7 pm on Friday, December 17 until 3 pm on Wednesday, December 22 while crews conduct a watermain repair. Access for all users will be maintained. Watch for signs and expect delays. Traffic impacts are expected in all directions, however, the heaviest impact will be to southbound traffic. Check OC Transpo's website for any transit impacts.
  • The southbound lanes on Woodroffe Avenue, between Hunt Club Road and Fallowfield Road, continue to be reduced to one lane until 3 pm on Monday, December 20 to accommodate a watermain repair. High traffic impacts are expected, and residents are encouraged to use an alternate route such as Merivale Road or Greenbank Road, where possible. Access to the Nepean Sportsplex will be maintained. OC Transpo service will not be affected.
  • The following Highway 174 ramps and lanes will be closed for Stage 2 LRT roadwork:
    • The westbound off-ramp to Tenth Line Road will close nightly between 9 pm and 5:30 am until Saturday, December 18.
  • Byron Avenue is closed between Woodland Avenue and Harcourt Avenue daily from 7 am to 5 pm until January 31, 2022. Byron Avenue is closed between Lockhart Avenue and Sherbourne Road daily from 7 am to 5 pm, until January 31, 2022.
  • A section of Redwood Avenue between Byron Avenue and Richmond Road will close daily between 7 am and 6 pm until Friday, December 17.
  • The following Highway 417 ramps and lanes will be closed for Stage 2 LRT roadwork:
    • The westbound off-ramp to Pinecrest Road will be closed until summer 2023.
    • The westbound on-ramp from northbound Pinecrest Road will close nightly between 11 pm and 5 am until Saturday, December 18.
    • Highway 417 westbound lanes at Pinecrest Road will close nightly between 11 pm and 5 am from Tuesday, January 4, 2022 until Sunday, January 9, 2022.
  • Riverside Drive southbound is reduced to one lane from Data Centre Road to Heron Road until June 2022.
  • Hunt Club Road at the Airport Parkway is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction nightly between 7 pm and 7 am until mid-February 2022 for Stage 2 LRT construction.
  • A section of Earl Armstrong Road between Bowesville Road and High Road will be closed from 7 pm on Tuesday, December 28 until 6 am on Wednesday, December 29.
  • A section of Bowesville Road between Earl Armstrong Road and Rideau Road will be closed from Thursday, December 30 at 7 pm to Friday, December 31 at 6 am.
  • The eastbound detour and lane closures on Montreal Road will be lifted, with lanes reopened as of 1 pm Sunday, December 19. Check OC Transpo’s website for transit impacts and route modifications. The temporary re-opening of Montreal Road will continue until Spring 2022.
  • Road closures and traffic interruptions can be expected during the Navan Upside Down Parade at the Navan Fairgrounds which begins at 6 pm on Saturday, December 18.
