<HTML>This post is for anyone in Ottawa who loves reading.
We are setting up a reading club. Share the good bookes (Chinese and English), exchange the thoughts, build up knowledge, make new friends, and most important, have more fun!
Many good ideas from the post "关于读书". How about get start from discuss the following:
(1) One book for every month?
(2) How to choose book?
(3) Besides book, maybe movie? music?
(4) Where to meet? When to meet? How ofen to meet?
(5) others?

BTW, about the meeting place, I like Tim Horton. A cup of coffee, stay to whenever you want.</HTML>

<HTML>(1) One book for every month?
Doesn't really matter. We can meet first, each bring a few books and talk about them. And then discuss, talk and proberbly find out the best way as we go.

(2) How to choose book?
Bring or talk whatever interest me and you think others might be intersted also.

(3) Besides book, maybe movie? music?
Sounds good. I am a big movie goer.

(4) Where to meet? When to meet? How ofen to meet?
It really depends. Once is a month is good. It has to be after work.

(5) others?

For first time, I would suggest talk about books most people have read already.</HTML>

<HTML>i agree. never been to tim horton, but as long as we can talk out loud there, i can give it a try.</HTML>

<HTML>Forgot to mention, I am in Ottawa too. Tim Horton is a good choice. Second cup and Starbuck are good for group meeting too. Can I bring some articles found on internet since I don't have any chinese book yet :-P.</HTML>

<HTML>Let's meet first. I like the idea of talking over a cup of coffee, so, questions now are: WHERE , WHEN & HOW ( we've never seen each other yet!!!)</HTML>

<HTML>How about this weekend? Downtown, South or West?</HTML>

<HTML>How about this friday? Downtown, 7:00 pm.</HTML>

<HTML>I have an appointment at 7 this Friday. Can we move it to Thuresday instead, or make it 8:00?</HTML>

<HTML>Friday sounds good to me. I know there is a SecondCup around the corner of Bank @ Somerset, but couldn't recall any Tim Hortons around.</HTML>

<HTML>i have an appointment on friday, so might be late for a hour or so (if we meet on 8), but i'll try to be there. somerset/bank sounds fine.</HTML>

<HTML>I can't make it on Friday either. Why not weekdays? We all have plans for weekends. Downtown is also a bit far for me. Can we make it near Algonquin college?</HTML>

<HTML>oh, no, the coordination nightmare is coming again... i hope we have a dictator now cause democracy just does not work that efficient in this case.

anyway, maybe what we can do is to have a vote and count out the choice. it's really hard to get everybody happy in a democratic world, but i don't know any other options. how about we nominate 1. time 2 location, then vote on all the cadidates? principal: try to get as many people happy as possible, but if not, follow the rule of the majority. people who can't make it this time can join next time (and have priority to set time and location for next time).

now the choices are:

1. this friday at 8, 2nd cup at bank/somerset.
2. weekday night, Algonquin college (can "exchange book" be more specific about your suggestion?)
3. i live not far away from the 2nd cup, so if you guys want to stop by my apartment, you are welcomed. weekday or weekend.</HTML>

<HTML>by the way, i vote for 1. i'll be there before 9pm.</HTML>

<HTML>1 or 2 is fine for me. BTW, thanks for poping up this nice voting list :)</HTML>
