As more areas in the city regain power, the City will begin transitioning some Emergency Reception Centres into Community Support Centres, as one-stop shops for community support information. Starting Monday, May 30, four Community Support Centres will operate from 10 am to 7 pm. Several City service and partner agency representatives will be present to provide information to residents impacted by the storm.

Community Support Centres

The Centres are at the following locations:

The centres will have information related to general insurance, housing and financial services, building and demolition permit requirements and processes, public health, psychosocial support, and more.

In addition, each location will provide access to charging stations for electronic devices, showers, and washrooms.

Food is available at these two Centres until at least Tuesday, May 31 at 7 pm, when the need will be reassessed:

City services and partners onsite

The following partners will be at all four locations:

  • By-law and Regulatory Services
  • Ottawa Public Health
  • Community and Social Services
  • Building Code Services
  • Canadian Red Cross
  • Insurance Bureau of Canada

Services at other City facilities

Many City recreational facilities and community centres will be open for normal programming and residents can visit them to charge devices and use washrooms and showers. Visit the Recreation Facilities webpage for open locations and hours.
