I was there. The fireworks were shorter than normal. Understandable at high inflation. I saw so many police officers wearing Winsor police badges at the site outside the War Museum. Everyone who wanted to get in had to go through a security check. And we saw so many enthusiastic speculators barricaded out on street. On the way home from downtown, we asked one police where the nearest O train station is. He answered, " Train? I have no clue". Then asked another officer, and he answered, " you mean Subway." Obviously, they are not Ottawa Police. Thank you our government. We felt much safer living in a police city. Oh, wait a second. Who paid those police officers working overtime ( at least paid double-time) to travel from all over Ontario and Quebec to Ottawa? It may make economic sense to be a copycat of CCP to install street surveillance cameras to save some taxpayers' money. Then all good, bad, and ugly are under control.
