The Vanier HUB offers daytime and weekend programming like sports, activities, crafts, music, food and is running from July to October.

Have you heard of the Vanier HUB? Just recently, the HUB was launched in partnership with the Vanier Community Service Centre, the Vanier Community Association and the Vanier BIA. From daytime programming for youth, to evening and weekend events that are fun for the whole family, the Vanier HUB is a community space that offers diverse, inclusive and bilingual events all summer long!

Programming at the HUB runs from July through to October. Keep an eye on their calendar for movie nights, live music, skateboarding events and more. So grab a bite to eat along Montreal Road, whether it’s dinner or dessert (or both) and head down to the Vanier HUB!

The HUB is located at the intersection of Montreal Road and Marier Avenue, right in the heart of Vanier and in the centre of the Montreal Road revitalization project. The ultimate vision for Montreal Road is to create a vibrant and welcoming main street with a well-balanced transportation network that will allow both residents and businesses to thrive. The Vanier HUB is one example of the many offerings that is already making this vision come to life.

Montreal Road is currently closed in the eastbound direction, but local businesses remain open and ready to serve you! The Montreal Road revitalization project is a $64 million investment to renew Montreal Road and North River Road and includes the following improvements:

  • Burial of 900 metres of overhead hydro lines
  • Construction of two kilometres of new road, cycle tracks, curbs, sidewalks, watermain, storm and sanitary sewer
  • Installation of Rogers and Bell utilities, streetlights, 11 signalized intersections and overlay of Vanier Parkway between Montreal Road and McArthur Avenue
  • Implementation of the Vanier and Montreal Road Public Art Plan, as well as three public areas (Dupuis Street, Emond Street and Bradley Avenue)
  • Improved transit accommodations, including bus shelter and benches
  • Significant landscaping and streetscaping improvements, including more than 80 additional trees, approximately 1,800 shrubs, 6,000 square metres of paver stones and 11,000 square metres of concrete sidewalk
