今年开学，高年级的熊孩，都是坐citybus吗？

俺这嘎达，高年级清一色citybus。已经实现了。

为啥还有候选人，拿这个说事儿？

因为我们这边学校的city bus站都安排在杳无人烟的地方，学生早上要跑步半小时才能到车站。

PD day, 周末，holiday， 去shopping mall hang out，他们可是舍得 花钱的，不只做window shopping

也给这些熊孩免费bus 吧

不过3.2公里可能是直线距离，实际的走路距离可能长达5公里。参见下面讨论。

下面多伦多大学的官方文章说，学生走路上学将激发学生的潜能，提升学生的竞争力，袋鼠黄码变绿码，绿码变奥赛奖牌。环保，锻炼身体（省下健身房费用），呼吸新鲜空气提升身体免疫力。鱼和熊掌兼得，不亦乐乎？​

Children who walk to school have been found to have higher academic performance in terms of attention/alertness, verbal, numeric, and reasoning abilities; higher degree of pleasantness and lower levels of stress during the school day; and higher levels of happiness, excitement and relaxation on the journey to school.

1.6 km for grade 1 to 8 students
3.2 km for students in grades 9 to 12

例如高中生，家住3.1公里的就没 free bus pass， 家住3.2 公里的就有， 很不公平。

给所有学生免费公车是 privilege，给所有学生一个option，需要的是雪中送炭，不需要的也无法滥用。

Covid 最严重的时候，grocery store 里的老弱残员工都回家了，高中生出来工作；还有那些营业的 fast food restaurants，多少高中生在工作。

这是我们自己社区的youth，将来的纳税人，国家栋梁，和谁谁家孩子没关系。

渥太华市能 absorb 这点儿车费损失。
