i don't think so.

63% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck — including nearly half of six-figure earners

They are probably proud homeowners with a hefty mortgage to pay. Gov should enact law to prohibit people from buying a home if they have to use 60% and above of their income for home related costs.

Don't remember the exact data, but it seems most homeowners in Toronto and Vancouver have to use a whopping 90% of their income to handle home-related costs.

Living in a multiple million worth home, but have to share a cottage with several other same proud home owners on vacation. What the heck!

The only time they can be relieved is the time they die! People should just live where they belong. They should not stretch their wallet too much for merely the proud feeling, "I am a proud home owner."

The human dignity is I live like a human, not a slave of any sort.

Yes 美国大部分房贷都是30年定期的, but it's probably the same culprit (owning a home with mortgage). There is no other thing that would consume most of those six-figure salaries if not for home-related costs.
