Think ahead this winter; take advantage of helmet discount weekend

Helmet discount weekend on December 3 and 4.

This preview of winter weather is a reminder to think ahead about safety before taking part in winter sports and activities this season. The City of Ottawa and Ottawa Public Health are getting help from participating retailers to hold Winter Helmet Discount Weekend – Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4.

Whether you and your family are skiing, sledding, snowboarding or skating, the proper helmet plays an important role in reducing the risk of serious head injuries.

Here are the participating retailers who are offering various discount rates on helmets for December 3 and 4 weekend:

This initiative is part of an overall City and Ottawa Public Heath public awareness campaign to reduce sledding injuries – which includes wearing a helmet.
