最好是购买一个 DVD writer 带软件的
要不然, 很麻烦
1: 用 IEEE1394 Cable 连好
2: 用 Window Movie Maker capture and Edit -> *.wmv
3: 找软件转化 *.wmv 到 MPEG-1 (VCD2.0), for example eovideo or TMPEng
4: VCD Easy 写成 image (bin)
5: burn into CD (you need to test if you DVD player is compatible)
If VCD Easy doesn't support your CD writer, you need to install a virtual CD drive, load the image to the virtual CD drive, use CloneCD duplicate the image to your phycial CD.
It is too much work, I did a few VCDs and felt tired. Now I am waiting for a good deal for a DVD writer (on sale).
Another way is to get a MySonic, it can convert windows movie to VCD/DVD, it might save you some work. But it doesn't work on my sony laptop. I thought SONY has some trick to find it is not registed.

1. use IEEE1394/Firewire/iLink interface from your camcorder and a video editing software(e.g Adobe Premiere), of course you need a firewire capture device on the PC side.
2. use analog composite or s-video output from your camcoder and you need a video-capture device(e.g ATI TV wonder USB edition) and the supporting software to dump the video contents to hard disk.
It is hight suggested that you convert the video to mpeg format(I have tested that a raw mini-dv video with 150M in size can be compress into a mpeg file that is only 5M)
After conversion you can use any CD burning software to complete the job.
3. you can buy a more expensive type of camcorder(it is already for sale at futureshop) that has a built-in DVD burner intead of mini-DV tape as recording media.
