Another exciting month of free community events at City Hall and Lansdowne Park starts soon!
Gear up for another exciting month of free community events at City Hall and Lansdowne Park. From the much-anticipated return of salsa to Full Moon Yoga and movies at the Park, we have something for everyone.
Salsa at City Hall
Last month, we promised you that salsa was returning, and we are proud to say that it is back and better than ever. Join us at the Rink of Dreams at City Hall on Wednesday evenings between Wednesday, July 12 and Wednesday, August 30 for free nights of dance, community and fun. The night starts at 6:30 pm with two introductory back-to-back workshops (salsa and another latin style). From 8 to 11 pm there will be social dancing to Ottawa’s best Latin DJs.
Classes are offered by various Latin dance studios from across the Ottawa region: “Salsa at City Hall has quickly become a beloved summer tradition here in Ottawa. We are thrilled to showcase the incredible talent that is here in our city, and to welcome the community to join in!”
Latin at Lansdowne
Not only are we offering Salsa at City Hall, we are also offering Latin at Lansdowne! These free outdoor classes will take place on Saturdays at the Aberdeen Plaza between Saturday, July 1 and Saturday, August 26. Beginner or Improver level dance lessons will begin at 6 pm, and social dancing will be between 8 and 11 pm. The workshops will be provided in both solo and partnered dance styles like salsa, bachata, kizomba and zouk, and you do not need to bring a partner. Participants will benefit from the workshops if they are an absolute beginner or if they have some dance experience already.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience the passion, energy, and vibrant atmosphere of Latin dance. This program is proudly offered by United Dance Ottawa:
“Latin at Lansdowne is for anyone and everyone regardless of background or skill level. The workshops are often where new connections and friendships can be forged so we encourage everyone to lean into learning and then stay for social dancing afterwards.
We call ourselves United Dance Ottawa because dance is a profound means of unity and connection to ourselves and others. Our team is excited to bring beginners and experienced dancers alike together for Latin at Lansdowne in a fun, vibrant experience of learning, dancing, and socializing every Saturday through the summer.”
