Demonstrations are scheduled to take place downtown, around Parliament Hill, on Tuesday, September 19 and Wednesday, September 20. The September 20 demonstration may include an impromptu march around 11 am. The Ottawa Police Service will monitor public safety. Residents can expect to see an increased presence of officers.

Traffic updates

Temporary traffic delays and road closures may occur during the demonstration, especially near Parliament Hill. Plan any travel in the downtown accordingly. Residents can continue to check our online traffic map and the City of Ottawa’s traffic Twitter account for up-to-date information.

Ticketing and towing

The City of Ottawa By-law and Regulatory Services (BLRS) will have Officers out on the streets ensuring all parking regulations are observed by residents and visitors. Vehicles found in violation of parking restrictions will be ticketed and/or towed.

OC Transpo updates

OC Transpo will maintain regular service during the demonstration. Should extended road closures occur, OC Transpo and Para Transpo service will be maintained with detours, as required, and there may be some delays. Stay up to date on the latest transit information by visiting octranspo.com/alerts, using the Transit app, calling 613-560-5000 or following OC Transpo’s Twitter account.
