A man is dead following an early morning shooting in Ottawa's Centrepointe neighbourhood.
A second person is being treated for critical injuries following the shooting on Draffin Court, off Hemmingwood Way, at approximately 6:15 a.m. Thursday.
Ottawa police said on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that officers are "responding to a homicide."
"Police are currently preserving evidence and interviewing witnesses. Please avoid the area," police said.

An Ottawa paramedic spokesperson told CTV News Ottawa an adult male was transported to hospital in critical condition. Paramedics say the homicide victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is Ottawa's 14th homicide of 2023.

One man has died and another was critically injured in a Thursday morning shooting near Centrepointe Drive and Baseline Road west of Ottawa's core, police and paramedics say.
Emergency responders were called to Draffin Court in the community of Nepean at about 6:15 a.m.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to hospital in critical condition, according to paramedic spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps.
An Ottawa police X account posted around 8:15 a.m. that officers were investigating a homicide.
Police are asking people to avoid the area, which is about 12 kilometres west of Ottawa's downtown core.

出事比较多点。

据一个以前政府工作的朋友说，加拿大比美国好的一点就是，在所有设计的小区，都有高中低档房，这样就不会有贫民窟和富人扎堆区，那些住相对富裕地方的穷人也容易发展。不容易社会分裂

呵呵，你是没去南中心点看过，隔条铁路，大批低端人口。北边好点，但到baseline就不行了，都是天使。

这种观念非常愚蠢，想法是好的，但人性使然的结果，原本不错的社区越来越坏，正经人慢慢的迁到别的地方了。

那里是政府补贴房区 与附近其它街区的人口结构大不相同 紧挨着这个court的有个政府的daycare 当年我家排上队了我都没把孩子送去这个daycare 情愿送远点外区的的daycare
附近的craig henry区更多的政府补贴房和楼, 加拿大政府的规划理念就是这样，好多好区里都有补贴房区，centrepointe baseline站附近新盖的condo高楼里政府强制一定比例的廉租房
