At this point, we are only able to hire MS candidates who are US citizen or lawful permanent residents, for these positions. Sponsorship for Ph.D. candidates may be considered.

那加拿大公民属于要Sponsorship的吗?

谢谢!

This you have to explain.

Many employer didn't know there is a things called TN for Canadian citizen. When they say they don't sponsor, it's just that they do not want to go through the paper work and costs of filing for H1B.

Go ahead applying for the job, when they ask, tell them Canadian TN does not need sponsorship, all you need is an offer letter, and you can get the work permit in one day, all by yourself.

That's not true. Company must go through a whole bunch of paperworks in order to sponsor a TN visa. The company would need to provide the following:
1. Offer of employment. Your official title should match exactly to one of the acceptable professions listed in the NAFTA - MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND ALTERNATIVE CREDENTIALS.
2. Letter of experience, detailing your background and new job requirements.

In addition, you will need to provide the following:
1. Proof of your Canadian citizenship, i.e. passport, citizenship card, etc.
2. Original copy of your university diploma
3. $50 USD in cash

My husband has gone through this process twice, so I know a little bit about it as well. PM me if you have more questions.

"That's not true. Company must go through a whole bunch of paperworks in order to sponsor a TN visa" is a false statement. All employer has to provide you is an offer of employment, wording to the like of INS.

I am in my second TN now, I never have this so called "letter of experience". You don't need experience to qualify for TN, all you need is a degree.

Unless, if your degree didn't match your job -- then you may need past expeirence to qualify.

Two different law firms had prepared all related documents for my husband. Both times they had included a letter of experience. It is essentially a resume put into complete sentences.

Law firms charge the company big money for their "work", of course they will try to show they are worth the money.

Letter of experience is not required if you have a matching degree, period.

Another more relevant issue to most readers here: if your degree is from CHina, you may have to get an official translation before you head to the border.

What does TN stand for? Thanks.

So you didn't hire lawyers in either of your TN application then?
About the Chinese degree, can we use the 公证书 used for immigration application? Or do we need this kind of 学位评估(Foreign Credential Evaluations and Qualification Recognition)?

The company should hire lawyers to prepare paperworks. You pay nothing. :)

No need for lawyer at all. Of course if the company has attoney (most companies do), that will be nice and save you effort.

I actually wrote my first offer letter and emailed to my employer. Make sure two things are correct:

1. Your title is Computer System Analyst. Programmer won't work.
2. Make sure your term is 1 year, and is temporary.

Yes, you need 学位评估(Foreign Credential Evaluations and Qualification Recognition).

If you have trouble reading those English posts, then there is no need for you to understand TN.
