No way in this case. Rebel and its journalists are well aware that the chance of winning the case against the RCMP is almost none If they exert their legal rights and we all know their rights are legitimate. They could threaten to do it but I bet they won't actually do it. They know they don't have the financial capacity to legally challenge the RCMP, which has abundant money to defend itself.
Also, the RCMP won't lay charges against that journalist, just detain him within the legally allowed time frame, fingerprint him, harass him, warn him, and then let him go.
Don't we see these happened a lot? especially during clearing the truckers in Ottawa.
It is not particularly happening under Trudeau's government, it could happen under any government. It is just a question of more or less.
