<HTML>For somebody who worked full time for more than six months and plan to resign from her job due to pregnancy, can she still receive maternity and parental benefits from HRDC? What is the best solution for her if she doesn't plan to return to her job after giving birth? Thank you.</HTML>

<HTML>Don't resign until you've taken all your parental leave. Why do you want to resign? What's the difference between taking 8 months leave at home and resign?</HTML>

<HTML>The best thing is ask your doctor for sickness leave because of pregnancy. The employeer can't fire you, and you still can keep your job. I know it is hard time for early pregnancy, but don't give up your work if you can.
The maternity benefits starts from 8 weeks before your due day, and you can take parental benefit just after maternity.
If you want to apply maternity and parental leave with your latest record of employment (within 52 weeks) whatever you quit or get laid off.</HTML>
