比较搞笑，BC 自由党改名叫联合党，结果下届省选要团灭了

BC 自由党当过BC 执政党多年，目前是BC 官方反对党，其实是一个保守党和自由党的联合，对手是BC NDP，和联邦自由党或安省自由党都没关系

BC 自由党上届省选失败，只是官方反对党，于是新党首改党名为BC 联合党，结果导致几十年的BC 执政党和官方反对党选情一路向下，因为很多BC 省民不知道BC 联合党是谁。

现在BC 联合党新党首决定作为官方反对党停止竞选，这可能在加拿大历史上都没有发生过，一个教训是百年老店不要轻易改名

最后是便宜了BC 保守党，该党几十年对BC 省政治毫无影响，BC 联合党的跨台导致BC 保守党的支持率急剧上升，下届省选至少会是BC 官方反对党
