tarting January 8, 2025, all Canadian and U.S. citizens will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to or through the United Kingdom.
The same requirement will come into effect for European Union (EU) citizens starting April 2, 2025.
Travellers will need to apply onlineExternal site which may not meet accessibility guidelines and/or language preferences. at least three days before departure. The application costs £10 GBP per person. Once approved, the eTA is valid for two years.
