Getting tired of shoveling snow? Is your mind wandering to warmer days and more fun ways to stay active? Well, get your head in the game this spring and join a City Wide Sports league. Whether it’s on sand, a court or a diamond, City Wide Sports has something for you. It’s a great and fun way to stay active with new or old friends.

Individual and team registrations are now open on register.ottawa.ca for a variety of mixed and women’s leagues for ages 18 and up. The deadline for many is Friday, May 23. When registering, you join an existing team or set up your own team. League schedules, standings and leaderboards are available online throughout the season for easy planning and tracking.

Check out the spring league offerings:

Mixed and women’s beach volleyball leagues

Mixed and women’s beach volleyball leagues run from late May to mid-August at Britannia Beach, Mooney’s Bay Beach and Petrie Island Beach. Play with a team of two, three, four or six players.

Women’s pickleball leagues

Women’s pickleball leagues hold court from early May to mid-July at Pinecrest Park. Team up with a partner in leagues for ages 18 and up or over age 50.

Women’s softball leagues

The women’s softball league takes the field from Wednesday, April 30 to Wednesday, August 13 at various locations across the city.

In addition, keep in mind more opportunities coming this summer and fall.

Summer

Mixed Spikeball® leagues


The mixed Spikeball® league runs from the beginning of July to mid-August at Mooney’s Bay Park. Registration opens in May.

Fall

Men and women’s hockey leagues


Men’s and women’s hockey leagues run from October to February. Registration opens in August.
