Who is entitled to get assistance?​

Basic eligibility has been set for this 430-dollar rent relief amount:

• You are required to be a Canadian resident, and your identity is eligible for taxation.
• You have submitted your tax return for 2024.
• In 2025, you must live in a rented house primarily.
• Your income should fall below the limit prescribed by the government.

Though the existing income limit has not yet been released, looking at former programs, it is believed that if a single person’s yearly income is less than $35,000 or if the family’s overall income is less than $45,000, they might be eligible.
