Ottawa Fire Services is teaming up with Enbridge Gas Ontario (Enbridge Gas) and the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC) to enhance training for Ottawa Fire Services.

Through the FMPFSC’s Safe Community Project Assist, Enbridge Gas is supporting Ottawa Fire Services with the purchase of educational materials that help our firefighters strengthen their skills, stay prepared, and continue protecting our community.

Ottawa’s firefighters, training officers, and fire prevention officers are training and practicing their life-saving skills every single day. Safe Community Project Assist helps fire departments across Ontario by ensuring they have extra funding for these essential training tools and supports.

These educational supports will be used by Ottawa Fire Services to ensure they are well prepared to serve our community with professionalism and expertise. With the right training materials, Ottawa Fire Services can provide their employees with the best training possible so they can provide the best possible services to the community.

Safe Community Project Assist is the latest partnership between Ottawa Fire Services, Enbridge Gas and the FMPFSC. In 2024, over 600 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms were distributed through Safe Community Project Zero, a public education campaign aimed at reducing fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths to zero.
