[问题] 谁在ebay上买过比较贵重的东西？

打算在ebay上买台手提电脑。如何才让交易比较放心？我知道找那些信誉高的卖家和ebay用escrow。

还有些什么办法呢？比如对方也是第一次卖东西。

I bought a laptop on ebay 2 month ago. That was a sweet deal. When you buy sth. from there, keep remember the following list,

1. Ask seller to ship by USPS (if it's in US)
1.5 Ask seller to ship as a present or gift.
2. Ask seller if he can use COD (UPS)
3. If the seller is close to you, meet him in person
...

I met the seller in person in a small town. I think that's the safest way.

What is COD? Are you saying you request COD(a kind of insurance?) when seller has to use UPS? Even in this case, UPS will still charge you a lot of duty after transaction.

Did you meet the seller in US? If so, that seller should have to be north-east of US like New York state. How did you claim at the border? Did Revenue Canada at border charge you?

COD means Charge On Delivery. You pay when you get the stuff. You need to pay extra for this service.
