Where those LNG orders originated from isn’t clear, but some past orders have been from countries such as the United States and Qatar.
The facility offloads LNG from tankers, which are then pumped through pipes into storage tanks on site. From there, the resource is restored to its original form through a process called regasification. It is then fed through the Brunswick Pipeline to markets in the province and the United States.
The facility can supply 20 per cent of the natural gas needs in the U.S. northeast and heat up to five million homes daily.

1. The Role of Brunswick Pipeline
The Brunswick Pipeline (owned by Emera) is a transmission pipeline. Think of it like a massive high-pressure "highway" for gas.
- What it does: It carries natural gas from the Saint John LNG terminal (Canaport) across 145 km to the US border near St. Stephen.
- Who it serves: It primarily serves large-scale shippers (like Repsol) to move gas into the broader North American grid. It does not sell gas directly to residential or small business customers.
