撞车了

今天下大雨，我在自己的线上开着，看到路右边一个车要穿过马路到路另一头，我就停下，只见那个车一加油，还是撞到了我的车头，把车前盖撞进去一块。然后就报了警。警察只看了我们的驾驶执照和保险，给了我一个report number,让我打电话给自己的保险公司。保险公司的人让我明天去，大家教教我以后应该怎么处理这件事故啊？ 警察说是对方的责任。 谢谢！！！

1. Call your insurance company: be careful when you talk to your insurance company even it is not your fault.

2. Go to the body shop to have the estimate.
Normally your insurance company has many-designed body shop. Ask and pick up one.
Tell the body shop staff to do their best because it is not your fault.

3. After that you have two choices: fix your car right way or wait until you get
the police report. The difference is:

If fix your car BEFORE get the police report, you pay first and your insurance
company will pay back after they get the report. If fix your car AFTER get the
police report, your insurance company will pay directly.

I am also waiting for the report. I was told it will take 1 week.

No. The cops are asked to submitted the report in 72 hrs. But it takes some time to the records department.
