Araghchi: Trust level between Iran, US is ‘zero’
Iran’s foreign minister tells Al Jazeera that his country does not see any reason to trust the US at the moment.
“We do not have any faith that negotiations with the US will yield any results. The trust level is at zero”, he said.
“We don’t see honesty.”
“The reality is we have never had a good experience from negotiations with the US”, Iran’s foreign minister tells Al Jazeera.
“One time, years ago, we negotiated, and we even got a deal, and then the US withdrew without any explanation. And twice last year and now this year, we negotiated with the US, and the result was an attack by them”, he added

The main breakthrough revealed during Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s interview with Al Jazeera is that he’s exchanging messages with Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East.
While this is significant information, Araghchi also said that there are no negotiations going on, even though he did acknowledge that some security discussions are taking place via Pakistan.
