OMS Operations Analyst

Description

Member of the Operations Engineer (Ops/Engineering) Team within CGI's Operations Management Business Unit. Working in a project environment, the OMS Ops Analyst is a key contributor to the delivery of Service Management services within a client engagement. This role will ensure that the client?s Operational Support System (OSS) requirements and business rules are implemented in the OSS tools and that proper Service Level Objectives (SLO), and subsequently a Service Level Agreement (SLA), are established with the client.






Responsibilities:



Gather Business and Functional requirements; review and evaluate the requirements; translate them into OSS functional requirements, business rules, and workflow etc., for implementation by OSS developers.
Working closely with Steady State Ops and System Engineering Organization to ensure compliance and integration with existing processes and OSS systems.
Interact with OSS Analyst, Developer and Process Analyst to ensure the OSS solution satisfies the Business and Functional Requirements.
Documentation of business process flows and functional requirements.
Work closely with various groups and solution providers to ensure compliance and integration with other OSS systems.
Service level information gathering with all solution suppliers.
Review of service level expectations with the client organizations.
Service level information gathering with the Steady State Ops group and potentially the InfoSec Managed Security Service group.
Formation of all encompassing service level criteria for Availability, Performance and Customer Care.

・ Strong HP Openview design and development skills

・ Best practices experience for status and performance monitoring

・ Strong Business Analyst skills and experience

Member of the Operations Engineer (Ops/Engineering) Team within CGI?s Operations Management Business Unit. This role reports directly to the Ops/Engineering Project Management Lead. Working in a project environment, this role will provide leadership to the Technical Deployment Team within a client engagement, leading all deployment activities of the production infrastructure for the project. This role will work very closely with the Technical Architect for design and the Project Co-ordinator for scheduling. This work will culminate in a proper handover of the infrastructure to the Steady State Operations Team.



Key Deliverables/Responsibilities include:

Oversight of all client engagement deployment activities.
Input to and adherence to Project capital and resourcing budget constraints.
Ensuring successful handover to Steady State Ops.
People management of all project team deployment resources, namely Technology Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in areas such as Server, Data Network, Security, Storage, Backup, Client, and Application.
Lead detailed design efforts of all Technology SMEs in conjunction with the Ops Engineering Technical Architect.
Lead deployment efforts of all Technology SMEs
Work closely with OMS Steady State Ops and InfoSec MSS team to ensure compliance and integration with existing design principles.
Working closely with Consortium Partners (if applicable) to ensure an integrated solution is designed and implemented.
Working closely with the client to ensure acceptance.


Our ideal candidate will have:

Must have strong judgment & innovative problem-solving skills.
Must have demonstrated technical leadership and organizational abilities in managing client projects.
Completed a technical degree/diploma with minimum of 6-8 years experience in more than one of: IT Infrastructure Engineering, IT Operations Delivery Management, or Project Management, or an equivalent combination of education & experience with a demonstrated ability to carry out the required duties of the job.
Overall Internet Service Design experience is a must.
Large Data Center Technology experience is a must.
Strong Project Management skills and experience a must.

As a member of the Operations Engineer (Ops/Engineering) Team within CGI?s Operations Management Business Unit you would report directly to the Transition Team Deputy PM. Working in a project environment, you will ensure that all client requirements are properly tested to ensure client certification.



Key Deliverables/Responsibilities include:

Design and document the test plans to meet the infrastructure and operations requirements in the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
Work closely with the Program Test Co-ordinator to ensure integration into the overall test plan.
Execute and document the test results as part of the certification process.
Ensure all Operational requirements are tested and documented properly.
Work closely with the Due Diligence Analysts to ensure all RTM requirements are understood and tested.
Work closely with the Solution Development team to ensure that all User Acceptance Test (UAT) criteria are satisfied.


Our ideal candidate will have:

Minimum of 5 years in IT
College-level diploma in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience) along with demonstrated ability to compose and complete test plans and procedures for infrastructure, security and data network components.
Minimum of three years? experience in IT and testing of computer infrastructure or equivalent education and professional experience to carry out the tasks of this position.
Overall Internet Service Delivery experience is a must.
Large Data Center Operations experience is a must.
Testing/Verification experience is a must.
