<HTML>Anyone has idea about Halifax? I will move to there.
How to move, and how to deliver package?

Are there chinese web site about halifax?

Thank you in advance.</HTML>

<HTML>Halifax is a very beautiful city. It's the biggest city in Maritime. It has population of 300,000 people. Most of them are decendant of Scottish. People there are very nice and a sort of conservative. The pace there is slower than inToronto. Nice place to study.

I don't know any Chinese web site there. You can send stuff there through Canada Post.</HTML>

<HTML>I once worked there for about 10 months in 2000. If you go there to study, it is not bad, but rent is still very high as the three universities are located in downtown area. As for other things, I do not like it very much. That's why I reallocate back to Ottawa. But indeed people there are more warm-hearted and considerate.</HTML>

<HTML>Just additional information about renting. If you rent a room, the cost probably will be similar to Ottawa. However, the apartment renting is a little bit better than here, especially two bedroom apartment.

There are no China town in Halifax. A few Chinese restaurant there, the taste is not that great. There are a few Oriental grocery store in Halifax. Since a lot of stuff came from stuff. It's more expensive than in Ottawa or Toronto.

Downtown area in Halifax is majorly one walking street called Spring Garden road, a small mall on that street. There are a few decent malls just outside Halifax. The biggest one is Mic Mac Mall. You should be able to find most of chain stores there.

Hope this helps.</HTML>

<HTML>Thanks everyone, I will study for my PH D. Could you give me some suggestion for renting an apartment and how to reach there more economic? How to deliver my stuff? such tv and computer and etc.</HTML>

<HTML>Dal should have family apartments for graduate student. You should contact the residence for the price. Also you can find some rental information here:

I used UPs to send the computer back to Halifax once. It was OK service. Just need to push them hard if anything goes wrong. Another way would be taking the train and bring them as luggages for some additional charges. You have to check the price because I can recall the price was not that great.</HTML>

<HTML>Thank you. Can I register the apartment in advance and then move to there from ottawa? and compare with fleight, which is more ecominic train or plane?

For luggage, I have 5 pakages( total 30*5=150Kg), a TV and a computer, which is better train or fleight? how much it will cost?

For UPS or Posts office delivery, How much it will cost?

Thank you very much.</HTML>

- You should be able to. You have to figure out the details with the residence office.

-train should be a little bit cheaper now. but you have to stay overnight on the train.

I don't know. You can call air canada and VIA Rail Canada. I think taking train allow you to carry more luggage(could be wrong) but they may not let you to carry TV or computer. the best way for TV and computer is still UPs.

Weight your package and call them. They are going to let you know.</HTML>

<HTML>Do you have UPS telephone number,</HTML>

<HTML>no I don't. You be able to find it on yellow page</HTML>
