My new home's closing day is 5 April, but I don't want to pay the rent to the end of April. Can you tell me how to deal with this? Thanks a lot.[拜年] 新年好！猴年大吉！

You could talk to your new home builder and see if it is possible to change your closing date a week earlier.They should understand this, since people seldom have their house closed in the beginning of the month if they are renting...the builder may not be able to do that for you, and you do not want give them a push when they are doing your most detailed decorating job, do you? I wouldn't do that anyways.
我个人认为，如果建筑商为难，或者你的房东不愿放宽几日，不如就这样留出足够富裕的时间做新房的验收“24小时验收表”，甚至建筑商到时候不能如期完成室内的一些细节，也可以再给他们一两个星期完成。另外，如果你们现在是租用的房屋，没有家用电器，恐怕你还是原意把日子安排的松一些，交房，搬家，送货都挤在一两天内完成，肯定会有疏忽的地方…

Sublet your apartment for 25 days. Actually I'm just brainstorming. I moved in the middle of the month, and felt much more relaxed during the move and the the after-move cleanup.
