Me and my friend both have dlink router at home and we both use 192.168.0.x for internal network addresses.
I can use dialup networking and then use VPN client to connect to my friend's VPN server.
My friend can use dialup network and then use VPN client to connect to my VPN server.
But if we don't use dailup network(i.e, we use ADSL/Cable modem), we can not connect to each other.
Actually we can logon to each other's VPN server but can not ping to each other's VPN-assigned ip address.
the network diagram is as follows:
192.168.0.x(VPN client) -> 192.168.0.1(dlink router) -> DSL/Cable modem ->
----------------- Internet ---------------------------
DSL modem -> 192.168.0.1(dlink router) -> 192.168.0.x(VPN server)
If my friend change the VPN-assigned address to 192.168.1.x, I can ping to my friend's VPN-server, but my friend prefer to use 192.168.0.x instead of 192.168.1.x for his internal network.
I am wondering if the VPN-assigned address have to be different from the original ip address section?
Thx a lot for any advice!
