I am interested in the resale house, but have no idea whether it is good to find a realtor, would anyone like to share some information/experience please.

1. Do we need a realtor? If does, any recommendation?
2. What is the pros/cons to use a realtor?
3. Where do you get the information for the resale house?
Except http://www.grapevine.on.ca/ and
http://orebweb2.oreb.ca/home, is there other site I can check as well?

Thanks

1. No idea.
2. If you are buying, get a realtor, they are paid by the seller, so there is no financial burden on you. However do not sign anything with the realtor, particularly the agreement of exclusivity. They have the professional knowledge of the market and they can filter out unwanted houses for you depending on your specific needs. On the other hand, do not completely depend on them, after all, they are not paid by you, so there is a conflict of interest.
3. http://orebweb3.oreb.ca/mlssearch/frm_search.html represents the official listing system, so yes, this is the best place to search for resale homes.

My suggestions are:
1. Ask yourself what you really want for a house, know your specific needs and concerns before jumping into the market. Different people have different preferences, things matter to others may not matter to you, and vice versa.
2. You must have a general idea of where you want to live, so drive around more specific areas to get yourself familiarized and to feel if you'd like it or not.
3. Get a mortgage pre-approval, know exactly how much you could afford.
4. Just talk to people around you, you'd be surprised how many people LOVE to talk about housing market. :)
