Need help for bringing vehicle to US

Hello everyone,


I am not sure it is the right place to post this message. I just need some help.


I am planning to move to US in coming months. My wife is working in
US right now (green Card Holder). I am a canadian citizen. Anybody
knows or has experience to bring a vehicle to US from canada? It is
highly appreciated if you could provide me some useful info.

How about bring some computer equipments and house hold items to US?
I haven't got a job yet in US so far. Just start to looking.

why bring a car to US??? you can buy one there. the price is much cheaper than here, and the insurence also much cheaper, too

Thanks for all your replys. But they are not much helpful.
I am asking how to bringing a car to US, not why to do so.
I have my own reason.

Selling it here is my last option if bringing it to US causes
much troubles or I have to pay extra tax.


You are appreciated to give some tips if you have such a
experience or you know how to do that.

The car is 3.5 years old and lower milege (about 50000 km). I am
under 4 year lease contract.I can bay out this car any time before
end of the lease. I'd like to keep this car if I could.

As for back to canada, it might be someday. But nothing for sure.
For this perticular moment I plan to find a job and live with my wife
in US. I have no idea how long I am going to stay there. That is all
I can tell. Do you have any detail info to bring a car to US? such
as a website? or a government department I can call the number?
