[请求] 弟兄姐妹们谁知道移民学生在政府部门CO-OP实习的规定？急！！！

I studied at Heritage college for 2 years. I passed all the courese, I'm qualified to participate the CO_OP. But our coordinator only can find one job interview in Gov't public service organization. And after she found out that I'm not a Canadian citizen, she said school can't send me to interview because Gov't prefers to hire Citizen first. "SHIT"! Isn't it DISCRIMINATION? Anybody know sth about the CO_OP regulation? Any suggestion, advice,and precedent example is appreciated.

Permanent Resident is enough. Citizenship is not necessary unless the positions are in some sensitive departments.

It is NOT related to DISCRIMINATION. It is almost same worldwide.

No, I don't think PR is enough. You have to be the citizen even for agriculture dept.

It depends on the position. Some are open to PRs. But citizens are preferred.

A lot of my friends, who are PR, work in federal government as full-time.

It is possible that CO-OP has different requirements. Personally I don't think so.

BTW, the position mentioned above might be in sensitive department.

i don't think your friends are permanent gov't employee if they don't have citizenship. they might be contractors for gov't.

早些年，经济情况好，大家都去private sector，政府招不到人，所以新人都是permanent。

现在经济情况不好，大家又都涌到政府，政府於是也学聪明了，新人都是1-2年的term，一期一期的续，这和有没有citizenship没关系，但有规定，term最多是3年，所以三年就必须转permanent或走人。一般来说，只要勤勤恳恳，脑子不笨，到时候都会被扶正。

大家看到的政府找人广告，很多己经被3年term的人员内定了，打广告只是做样子。

新人都是1-2年的term，

这也要看新人是什么人。新人得到联邦政府permanent职位的还是很多的。几乎没有中国人就是了。不是公民就不要动联邦政府的脑筋了。现在可以说门都没有。当然当电工之类不接触国家秘密的恐怕还有可能。
