<HTML>I want to write in Chinese but I do not have the software. My PC have XP system but cannot install Chinese version of Win word. Is there free software that can install on XP system and write in Chinese? So I can write my notes in Chinese to put on the web. Thanks.

<HTML>I can read chinese news on my computer but cannot write it. NJ star can only display Chinese character but cannot let me write the character.
My XP is not XP chinese version, so I cannot write it in Chinese. Any comment.

<HTML>Whatever XP comes with Chinese input, no special Chinese version. I have installed XP once with Chinese input well. But I don't have XP within my desktop now, you'd better study it and can find it out easy. It should be similar with what we do with Windows 2000.</HTML>

[%sig%]

<HTML>Steps for setting up Chinese input for Win2K:
1) start ->settings -> control panel -> Regional Options ->"input locales" tab
2) Add...:
input locale: Chinese ( PRC ) ( or Chinese TaiWan, Hongkong as you wish)
input layout/IME: choose as you wish, I am using Chinese (simplified) -> MS-Pinyin98

These input method will work with MS products: IE, outlook, MS office. You will see an icon at your task bar ( normally beside the clock). Click on the bar to select input method you would like to use.

I am not sure about XP though. Thought it might be similar.</HTML>
