China customs duty?

My parents will go back to China after visiting Ottawa for one year. They would like to buy a taplop or a digital camera in Ottawa, but don't know if they should pay the customs duty when they go back China and how many pacentage of the item value they should pay?

去年我从日本回国的时候带回两个数码相机，但是过海关的时候也没有人问我。所以我想只买一个数码相机的话应该没有问题，最好是在这边买完后先使用一阵子，而且，中国在这方面的关税应该是很低的，具体我不太清楚。
