[问题] Hydro Ottawa wants to charge me $200 for deposite!

Just got a bill from Hydro Ottawa asking for $200 for security deposite, because I am a new customer. Is there anybody who paid them deposite? Or is there a way to waive this deposite? It's rediculous and discrimination.:flaming: :flaming:

I was charged $150 (if I remember correctly) and I was told that it would be refunded (in the form of a cheque) when I end their service. It's just a way to reassure you'll pay the bill, don't think discrimination has anything to do with it.

Since you have no credit with Hydro-ottawa, you have to pay it.

Anyway, the money is under your account.
You just pay it first, sth like deposit.

I paid 200 last month.

I called them this morning, they said they will check my credit, if my credit is ok, then this deposite will be waived. I gave them my sin number and credit card number, driver's licence number for them to do the check.
