??中央电视台第四套节目（CCTV-4）面向北美地区观众播出的"银河
3R"（Galaxy-3R）卫星信号将从2002年7月10日开始由模拟方式转为数字方式播出。
??转换播出方式后，北美"银河3R"卫星的用户将可以收看到CCTV-4（中央电视台中文
国际频道）和CCTV-9（中央电视台英语国际频道）两个频道。原来通过G-3R卫星收看
CCTV-4的用户无需调整卫星天线，只要更换一台专用数字解码器（IRD）及随机附带
的智能卡（Smart Card）即可收看到两个频道的数字信号。新用户则除购买专用解码
器和智能卡外，还需再安装一个碟形卫星天线（小耳朵）。
??有关专用解码器的订购事宜，请向中央电视台在美国指定的代理服务商--凤凰卫视

??转换为数字信号后，CCTV-4和CCTV-9将采用加扰但不收收视费的方式向用户提

NOTICE
The signals transmitted from CCTV-4 to North America through Galaxy-3R will change
from analogue to digital starting from July 10, 2002.
After this transmission mode conversion, subscribers of Galaxy-3R in the North America
can watch programs on both CCTV-4 (CCTV's Chinese International channel) and CCTV-9
(CCTV's English language channel). CCTV4's original subscribers who receive through G-3R
do not have to adjust their antennas. All they need to do is to replace their analogue
set-top box with a digital integrated receiver decoder (IRD), which is equipped with a
smart card. New subscribers have to purchase the specific IRD with the smart card and
have a dish antenna installed.
For matters concerning the IRD purchase, please contact CCTV's authorized agent in the
United States, Phoenix North America Chinese Channel, at (1)-866-287-2288.
After the analogue-to-digital conversion, programs on both CCTV-4 and CCT-9 will be
provided free of any subscription fee, but through a scrambled mode. After the installation
of the IRD and smart card and the payment of a yearly US$15.00 service charge to
CCTV's authorized agent in the US, subscribers will receive programs on both CCTV-4 and
CCTV-9 all year round.
