SUBJECT: SEMINAR IN ADMIN.: GENDER ISSUES IN MANAGEMENT WINTER 2005
Are you looking for an interesting elective seminar for your third or
fourth year? The School of Management is introducing a three credit
Seminar in Administration for 2004-2005.
Gender Issues in Management will be offered, in English, in Winter
2005 (January April 2005), Mondays 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and
Thursdays 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Course Gender Issues in Management{ examines both the
organizational and personal challenges (for women and men) arising
from changing gender roles and the increased participation of women
in management. Topics to be addressed include: Gender Roles and
Segregated Work, Management Styles and Gender, Barriers to Career
Advancement, Career Strategies, and Balancing Work and Family.
The Approach Gender Issues in Management builds on earlier courses in
the School of Management, with a more in-depth focus on the role of
gender in management. The course is based upon recent research
findings, case studies, articles, videos, guest speakers, and in
class discussions.. Participants will be critically analyzing
assigned readings, preparing case studies, conducting independent
research, delivering presentations, participating actively in class,
and keeping a personal journal of their own growth and development
throughout the course.
To Register: Register for ADM3396, Section B. Third or fourth year
standing is required to register. Women and men are equally
encouraged to register in the course. Enrolment is limited.
