Telecom or IT?

<HTML>I get a question for everyone. I am on the cross road in my career. I can start as a computer programmer or an optical telecom position (start) position at Nortel. I am sort of unsure which one has a long term bright future. For now, I am sure I can get high pay quickly in the optical, but how long can it keep so hot as so far. 5 yr, 10 yrs, or 20 yrs. What about after? </HTML>

<HTML>Sometimes I feel lost too. What's gonna happen 5 years/10 years later? You absolutely didn't know you would be Ottawa one day 10 years ago, did you? I'll assume you're paid equally with these two offers, why don't you ask yourself which one interest you more? In my opinion, both have great future ahead if you have enough experience.
