LONDON, March 31 (Reuters) - BAE Systems said on Wednesday it had won a $111 million contract for weapon sights for the U.S. Army that could rise to more than $250 million if all options were to be exercised.
"BAE Systems has been awarded a five-year multiyear contract by the U.S. Army's Communication and Electronics Command (CECOM) to supply a family of next-generation thermal weapon sights for its soldiers," Europe's largest defence firm said in a statement.
The equipment allows soldiers to detect and engage targets day or night and in all weather, it said.
BAE shares were up 1.00 percent at 202 pence at 1444 GMT versus a London FTSE 100 index <.FTSE> off 0.31 percent.
