我的车被要求做EMISSION TEST

有谁刚做过吗？介绍介绍，有什么窍门，那里便宜，我的车MUFFLER坏了，估计肯定的修了才能过

My car had an emission test not long ago. The test itself was $32. If your
car needs repair, that's another story.

Go to www.driveclean.org to find a list of garages that can do emission test.
I suggest you call a few garages and get a quote for your muffler. The 2nd
test is $15 if you do that at the same place. There is an upper limit on your
repair bill. Check out the web site for more info.

据朋友介绍,如果测试不过关,3-5年的车修理费用的deductable是$200,也就是说,超过部分政府给报销;5年以上的提高到$450.朋友的车花了$380修理,政府掏了$180.如果有毛病,该修就修,政府花钱帮你修车,何乐而不为?

但是他们修的地方一般不影响开车,仍然是从你口袋里掏钱.

能做的是,在测试前先烧两三箱酒精汽油,就是掺Ethnol的那种油,测试时也要用Ethnol gas.

然后换一次机油,老车也许还得换fuel filter

测试时尽量在早上,而不要在下午.

事先在高速上跑几公里.

测之前打开发动机热风(不是空调),至少开到一半风力,但不要对脸吹.

再测.

问题是他会不会要求先修好MUFFLER在测试，我知道他们测试是有条件的，不过只知道是关于安全方面的

不是政府给报销，如果超过200，你就修到200，能修多少修多少，然后给一个conditional pass
