A couple of days ago, my wife and I had appointment with our friend. When we were on the way, we found that we forgot to bring the address. So we returned back to home. In order to avoid blocking the traffic, we drove our car to left hand side of the road at the permitted parking place. My wife was sitting inside the car and the four lights were flashing while I was going upstairs to fetch the address. Suddenly, a big truck came and a man got off it. And then he gave my wife a PARKING INFRACTION NOTICE rudely.
I checked the notice and found that INFRACTION was "PARK FACING WRONG
DIRECTION".
After several days contacting with Ottawa parking office, I have just got reply that, "In addition to being parked facing the wrong way, the Officer has indicated that street sweeping operations were also in effect at the time. For both these reasons, Parking Infraction D8815764 may not be withdrawn."
Is there anyone who had the same experience?
Are there such rules in the text books?
Are there any other traffic restrictions which we should pay more
attention?
Thanks!
