<HTML>There are a few types of childcare facilities in Canada: private day care, day care center, private school, and public kindergarten.
Private day care: a caregiver can care for up to 5 children in his/her own home. Costs range from $25- $35 a day.
Day care center: a privately run day care center hires several staff members to care for different age groups. Each class may have 10-20 kids, and the cost is around $500 - $700 a month.
Private school: Montessori private school takes kids as young as 2 years old, and it costs $800 a month for full day or $600 for half day.
Public Kindergarten: Free, but your kids have to be four to attend.
The time are from 7:00 or 8:00 to 5:00 depending on each facility, but normally they all offer early-drop-in so you can drop them off as early as 7:00 am.
Depending on your individual situation, I know a lot of people send kids to day care in the morning and pick them up after work. </HTML>
