[问题] 关于换汽车保险的问题

我的汽车保险是今年5月到期，每一年自动renew，因为是选择银行转帐的方式。
现在我想换保险公司，不知道能不能中途换？需要给旧的公司电话还是书面申请？有什么程序要做？谢谢指点！

In order to switch company, you need to do the following:

1) Shop for a new insurance company and make sure the new policy is activated ( Make sure the start date )

2) Once the new policy is in force, terminate the old policy in writing and request a refund

3) If the preimum is pre-authorized payment from bank account. Bank might take 30 days to do any PAP. you can do either of the 2 things.
a) Place a stop-payment of the insurance preimum ( need exact amount and date ) in a bank. Cost you $10
b) If the company is a good-reputation, they will get the money and refund you the different in a cheque.

P.S. Make sure your new policy is in force before terminate your old one!
