I personally avoid buying food products (especially those processed food) from China. Don't get me wrong. I don't mean they are not good. What I worry about is the way the food is processed. The recent bad news about how those food manufacturuers use over-dosed chemicals, preservatives and coloring are very scary. The food factory do not care if the chemical used is harmful to human body. If taken for long time, getting cancer is the end result.
Besides, don't forget that there are many "faked" products (e.g., soy saurce, instant noodles).
I told 168 store to buy food from that are "made in Canada/Toronto". Even canned food has over-dosed preservatives.
So, be careful with processed food from China. We have to wait until the Chinese government set up health rules for exported food products.
