Length of Assignment: permanent
Salary: $1082 - $1342 / weekly.
Location: Guelph

Description: The Ministry of Agriculture and Food's land and resource cluster needs your application-development and project-leadership skills to lead the development and maintenance of complex computer applications. Applying a structured methodology, you will: define requirements; research options for development; design application components; develop/test code; lead quality assurance activities; develop/maintain systems documentation; resolve technical issues; advise on application usage.
Qualifications: experience in systems analysis, requirements definition, design/development of PC-based applications (NMAN), systems testing/quality assurance methods, structured methodologies (RUP), database structures, programming languages (Visual Basic, C++, Java), project leadership; strong communication skills; experience working with technology standards/guidelines; ability to plan/organize/lead teams; knowledge of agricultural industry/farm practices, especially livestock housing, pasture/nutrient management, environmental legislation.
