when i backed out, i did not notice there is a van sitting on the other side of the road. Actually this is a fire route. The guy went to see the family on the other side. he should park his van in the visitor's parking.

i back out my car everyday, never think some damn person will park his car just there. My volvo is ok but his van got a big dent on the bumper.

i knocked the door and spoke to the guy. He was so angry before i teld him that is a fire route. so he agreed to talk to me back regarding the price. i do not want to go to insurance and he does not either i guess.

so, what you think? I think i will be very kind to pay him 50% of his quote. the lesson is to be always careful of the most unbelievable.

Sorry to hear your story. But I do not see any reason to pay him 50% of quote, no matter where he parked his car.

it is a fire route. it is a 500 dollars fine to park there and you have to pay the tow as well.

he parked his car on the wrong side of the road and in the wrong direction. Therefore, there is fine for that too.

i will wait to see how much he askes. I think i am honest enough to knock the door to let him know i hit his car. Secondly, i am willing to compensate his lost.

For the reason why i did not look. I think I am so used to that street and nobody never park car there and leave the car. Finally, i was looking at my check before i got in my car. I was in a rush because i was late. AND I AM A GOOD DRIVER AND I CAN FEEL CARS MOVE BUT NOT A PARKED CAR. Finally, the most unbelievable just can happen to you and me.

If he parked his car illegally, he's gonna pay the fine when you guys see a police. I think 50% is pretty good already because he should've paid the fine by parking at the wrong place.

Since his vehicle was parked on a fire route which was not permitted to park any kind of vehicle, you are not responsable for this damn thing. Why do not you just call police and let them to judge? that will be much more fare for you.

well.. you know... if you wanted to avoid the payment.. that is impossible.

Whatever the car parked in which location, the judge will not consider that is his/her fault because at that time, no police is there. For example, you can make a U-turn in a no U-turn traffic light as long as there is no police, correct.

So, you have to pay for the damage ( at least 50% ) or 100%. If that person have his mind clear and sue you because obviously, you are 100% at fault! cause you bump into his car.
