I doubt it. I have a white friend who has 7 years experience on coding and game developing. He's still doing a $9/h work.

It seems that new-grads now have better oppertunities than experienced people. Our company recenctly hired lots of new-grads who used to be co-op. But I haven't seen any experienced new hire yet. Some guys had been laid off are comming back though. Things are getting better.

That is true. I dont want to be offensive to anybody, but the company can pay less for the newgrad, especially for positions which do not need special skills other than coding.

The market always prefers very experienced professionals (expertise on a specific area is definitely an asset) and newgrad. For the majority people with a few years experience on kinds of "routine works", it is still tough due to (1) the market is not ready for these positions (2)a huge number of candidates for these positions

Anyways, it is a good sign that there is activity going on. Eventually, it will be good for the entire industry.

NORTEL找的NEW GRAD,剧我所知,全是MASTER毕业.理论,使用哪一点差?只要

For people considering 50k starting salary sucks, you may want to come to the reality and realize that you have 20 extra years to grow your salary than those old farts.

NO, I am not. But I understand an ordinary engineer like you
cannot find job once laid off.
